Give iTunes 11 that iTunes 10 Feel

As many of you are probably aware, iTunes 11 is ready for download.  Many of you may not know, however, that the initial look of it has changed quite dramatically.  If you use iTunes as a media player you will be very happy with the look and feel.  If you use it as a device manager, however, you may not feel the joy quite as much!

They have streamlined the look to make it very easy to use for playing your music or videos.  It is very clean.  Many teachers use iTunes more for adding content to devices for their classrooms.  The options that used to be readily available now do not seem quite as accessible with this new version.  Fear not!  They are there…you just need to know where to find them.

To get back the iTunes 10 feel, your first course of action will be to get the menu bar back.  Click on the menu button located in the upper left-hand corner of the screen and choose to “Show Menu Bar“.

Once your menu bar is visible it is on to step 2 of this transformation.  You will want the sidebar back so you can see devices that are connected to your computer.  From the menu bar, select “View“, “Show Sidebar“.  Now is when you will start to breathe a little easier.  It is looking more like your old iTunes.

The last step for me was to select to show the list of songs.  My transformation is complete!  My music choices…don’t judge!
