I (obviously) am a big fan of blogging. I believe everyone in education needs to work together. Administrators, teachers, and students all have things worth sharing. I love reading about what is happening in classrooms. Nothing makes me grin more than reading a student blogging about something they have discovered. You can feel the excitement that comes out through his or her words!
I have been using Blogger for quite some time personally and I branched out to WordPress for this site. I wanted to make sure I had a grasp of multiple sites so I am capable of helping with whatever program a teacher asks about. I have heard great things about Weebly for some time now, so I figured it was time I gave them a look as well. I was NOT DISAPPOINTED!
Weebly.com is very easy to use…and free! It only takes a few minutes to get your site up and running. The interface is very easy to understand and work with. I started off by creating a site for my family really quickly. I would say I have no more than 45 minutes invested and that includes creating my account. Here is the site as it stands after the initial 45 minutes. I have done nothing to it since: The Wagner Family.
My daughter loves anything involving art. She was looking for someplace to start showing off her projects. Over the holiday break we set up a site for her. After about 20 minutes of tutoring she was well on her way. Here is what she has accomplished thus far: Alayna’s Art. She is also a big fan of the Weebly iOS App. It is very simple to use. It allows her to take quick shots of something she is working on and then post in just a few minutes.
To help you get started, I have created these Weebly Cheat Sheets for you to download. There are also tutorials on their site to help you get started. If you like what you see from the free version but are looking for more, a Pro version is available for a price.
Weebly also has accounts for educators. This is also free. From what I have seen, there are two big pluses with an education account: you have the ability to assign homework through the site for your students, and you can create student sub-accounts which allows them to create their own site.
Great communication is key in the education field. Weebly is doing its part to make that communication a little bit easier!

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something which I think I
would never understand. It seems too complicated and extremely broad for
me. I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
very cool. i was wondering if 2 teachers can work together on one weebly site? Ive googled, but nothing came up
As long as they are willing to share a password…or one teacher can be the creator and another can have a student log in to create. With the use of multiple pages an entire team could share a site…each having their own page(s).
